Jackson & Main Residences Coming to Fishkill’s Historic District
The Jackson & Main project will bring 56 stylish new residences to the Village of Fishkill Historic District.
Look for construction to start before the end of the year on the development of three-story buildings along Jackson and Main streets. The buildings, offering one- and two-bedroom units, will bring new life to the vacant 2.3-acre site. The design pays respect to existing architectural features along Main Street and historic farmhouse estates once a staple of the mid-Hudson Valley, while also sporting a contemporary look.
Design features will include fiber cement siding in vertical and horizontal elements, with rustic shake-style highlights at gables and bays. Pitched-roof buildings will be separated by areas of flat roofs that connect the “houses” which will feature entry atriums with abundant window space. Terraces atop the connecting sections will offer residents opportunities to enjoy fresh air and views.
Third-story residences will feature 10-foot-high ceilings and will be bathed in natural light flowing through large expanses of glass and clerestory windows.
The building fronting the corner of Jackson and Main will include ground-floor community resident space, and will open to an attractive pocket park where the streets meet, with landscaping, low stone walls and an informational gazebo.
Private garages along Cary Avenue will shield the interior parking area from the street.
Keep watching for more information on this exciting new residential opportunity.
