Hudson Valley Winery

Tinkelman Architecture developed the master plans for Hudson Valley Wine Village which extends nearly a mile along the Scenic Hudson River.
The goal of this multi-phase project being developed between Route 9W and the Hudson River, is to bring new economic opportunities to the town and region, while maintaining great sensitivity to the environment and Hudson River. To this end, the plans preserve the Hudson River viewshed, critical wetlands and the steep slope bluff along the western edge of the Hudson.
The plans include a 103- suite hotel, conference center, spa and restaurant. Two places of worship/wedding chapels were designed to be nestled into a wooded area in the southeast portion of the site. Additionally, 158,000 square feet of adapted re-use and new office and commercial space was planned to meet the demands for this type of use in Ulster County. It is planned in a unique setting on the former “Wine Village” adjacent to the hotel.
The project would also include 800 residential units in a mix of single-family, two-family and multi-family homes, which were to be constructed in phases over 20 years.

In this visualization exercise, TA conducted a series of conceptual studies exploring the potential for a first-class resort on the grounds of the historic Hudson Valley Winery. The sprawling 400 acre site abuts a stunning cliff along the Hudson River, and would serve as a place to embrace rustic tradition and renew the body, mind and spirit. By embracing the architectural heritage of the wine village, and employing contemporary design elements, our team was able develop a concept that would marry the two identities into a single narrative that restores and elevates the winery grounds.
